Assoc. Prof. Svetla Marinova Kaneva was born in Razgrad, where she graduated the Secondary School of Mathematics “Acad. N. Obreshkov” specializing in mathematics and English. She studied law at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University. She successfully graduated and obtained her legal qualification in 2002. After a competition, she was selected as an assistant in the Department of Public Law Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the University of National and World Economy. She teaches the subjects General Theory of Law, General Theory of the State, and Fundamentals of Law. In 2010, Assoc. Prof. Svetla Kaneva defended her doctoral dissertation before the Scientific Council on Legal Sciences at the Higher Attestation Commission on the topic “Principles of Law.” In 2014, she acquired the academic title of associate professor. She currently lectures on General Theory of Law, General Theory of the State, and Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of National and World Economy. His long-standing scientific interests are in the field of philosophy of law and social philosophy. Her monographs and research are also in this field: Principles of Law, Interest in Law, Measure of Law. She has published a textbook of the same name on the subject of Philosophy of Law.
